Gasparee Caves and Down the Islands Cruise Combo

Assemble at the Crews Inn Marina.  At this marina you board a fine Bertram Yacht. Cruise the beautiful waters off the Northwest Coast of Trinidad on your way to the first stop at Gaspar Grande Island to explore the Gasparee Caves

Hike to the Cave

On arriving at Gaspar Grande, you start an easy uphill hike that will take about 25 minutes. It is fairly steep so pace yourself.  Along the way you will learn of the island’s human and natural history of the island.  On this hike you will pass an old American World War II gunnery at the top of the hill.

Descend into the Cave

After a short rest, you will enter the cave from the top, and descend a well-lit metal staircase which leads to the extraordinary cave system 100 feet below that is filled with stalactites and stalagmites, sinkholes and a crystal pool that shimmers like glass, reflecting the colours of the light that filters through the cave.Here the cave formations are the best in Trinidad and Tobago with some shaped like dinosaurs and others like angels. You will spend up to one hour in the cave.

Go swimming in enchanting secluded bays

Following your visit to the Caves, return to the yacht to cruise to a secluded bay, only reachable by boat, where you can go for a relaxing swim, play with water toys or just take in the ambiance while lying on deck.

View the islands roll by in perfect comfort, enjoying refreshments and listening to local music with access to on-board bathroom facilities.

Catch a glimpse of turtles. dolphins and other marine wildlife

Keep a sharp eye out for marine wildlife, as turtles, dolphins and stingrays are often seen frolicking in the waters nearby.

Thereafter, you will exit and return to the boat along the same path.  The boat returns to Island Home Owners Boatyard. End of Tour

• Shoes and clothes – Please wear light flexible clothing – Yoga Pants, Track Pants, ¾ length short pants.  T-shirts etc.  Because of the hike and the descent into the cave on stairs, please wear sneakers and other comfortable footwear that fit snug on your feet.  Avoid flip flops and other footwear that can come off easily.
• Protection – Sunscreen and insect repellent are advised.

• Parking – A separate parking fee of TT$50 per vehicle is payable to the car park owner at Crews Inn.

• Children under 2 years old are free of charge.
• Please note that the tour includes a 25 minute uphill hike. Groups including infants,
  small children and persons with mobility issues should note carefully and make appropriate arrangements for these persons.
• No Swimming in the Caves – The owners of the Gasparee Caves have advised that no swimming will be allowed in the cave for safety reasons.
• As this is an outdoor tour there is a chance of encountering wildlife including snakes.

• Cancellations made longer than 72 hours prior to the event have no charge.
• Cancellations made less than 72 hours prior to the event incur full fee.
